Frequently asked questions
Do I need an iCloud account to use VENS?
Yes. VENS uses iCloud to sync your festivals, setlists, and stats across your own devices, and to support shared features like Pods and crowdsourced Live Track ID. You'll need to be signed into iCloud on your device for the app to work.
Which streaming services does VENS support?
Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. You can build a playlist from any scanned lineup or captured setlist directly in whichever service you already use.
How does crowdsourced Live Track ID merging work?
When you capture a song with Live Track ID at a show, VENS checks whether anyone else at the same set is doing the same thing. If they are, everyone's captures are combined into one setlist — deduplicated and ordered by when each song actually played — instead of everyone ending up with their own partial version.
What is Time Warp?
Time Warp builds a lineup's playlist using only music that actually existed the year that festival happened, so an old lineup sounds the way it would have back then instead of pulling in an artist's more recent catalog.
Does VENS work on Apple Watch?
Yes — VENS has a watchOS 26+ companion, useful for Live Track ID capture without having to pull your phone out mid-set.
Is my data shared with other users?
Only what's needed for features you opt into — like merging Live Track ID captures at a show, or sharing a lineup with a Pod. Your personal library, stats, and setlist history stay tied to your own iCloud account.
